- Willkommen! My name's Nicole and I work as a high school German teacher. I've been teaching for 4 1/2 years now (3 at the collegiate level and 1 1/2 at the high school), which I absolutely love. I created this blog with the intent of sharing inventive ideas that have worked well in my classroom in the hopes that you'll find them helpful too! :) I just started teaching at a new high school in Oregon this year (I'm originally from Illinois) and took over a dying German program. I don't use a textbook or workbook. I believe in practice makes perfect and I am constantly pushing my students to learn how to use German. It's a combination of approaches, most aimed at being communicative. Many of the ideas here come from my own zany head or with the help of other teachers on Pinterest (which I will source, of course!)
